Jermaine Abdual – Storyteller, Chef, and Author
He is the founder of Sidekicks & Stoolz, a podcast and blog exploring purpose, identity, and resilience. The platform invites honest conversation around faith, culture, and personal growth, encouraging people to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover who they are becoming.
Since 2019, Jermaine has served as Chef/Owner of Spirit & Soul Catering + Community, where food is more than nourishment—it’s a language. Each meal tells a story, fostering belonging and reminding us that some of life’s most meaningful lessons are shared around the table.
Jermaine is the author of two books. His memoir, Turtles Win Rabbit Races, is a reflective narrative on resilience, self-discovery, and faith, empowering readers to embrace their unique journeys and uncover their God-given purpose. His most recent work, Forgiveness Is the Fragrance That the Violet Sheds on the Heel That Has Crushed It, explores the power, tension, and freedom found in forgiveness—offering a thoughtful meditation on healing, grace, and spiritual maturity.
A sought-after speaker and panelist, Jermaine brings authenticity, humor, and insight to conversations around cultural heritage, creativity, personal growth, and the intersection of identity and faith. His work consistently bridges generations, disciplines, and communities.
When he’s not writing, speaking, or cooking, Jermaine collaborates with local farmers, artists, and community leaders to cultivate inclusive spaces where food, culture, and storytelling converge. His mission is simple but intentional: build community, spark transformation, and celebrate the extraordinary beauty of everyday life.
Through every endeavor, Jermaine invites others to pull up a stool, join the conversation, and rediscover the deeper connections that shape who we are.
